Roo immediately fell in love with the different styles and techniques he learned in the first few weeks. The community of friends from CrossFit is what he loves most and keeps him coming back everyday. His favorite WOD is Linda because it's based off of your personal body weight. His favorite movement is muscles ups because it's awesome! Roo is CrossFit Level 1 Certified, CF Rowing Certified, and a former CFC Intern. He is also First Aid/CPR/AED Certified.

After being dissatisfied with the lack of results from a local gym, she decided to give CrossFit a try. Melissa immediately fell in love with CrossFit and the people within the CrossFit community. After a year of training, she decided to obtain her CF-L1 where the gained even more of a passion for the sport. Melissa enjoys being immersed in the community and plans on pursuing more certifications in the future. Melissa is currently Crossfit Level 1 Certified.
Brandon, also known as "BK" or "Brando" started crossfitting in 2015 when he was told by doctors that he was 40 lbs. under weight. So, instead of hitting up McDonalds and Taco Bell, he decided on a healthier plan. Once he tried CrossFit, he fell in love with it. Going to a globo-gym and working out alone just didn't motivate him anymore. Having a community of people, led by coaches to teach you proper form was exactly what he needed. After a year of being part of something so amazing, and learning so much, he decided to take his trainmen to the next step and become a coach. Brandon is now CF-L1 Certified.
Corey started Crossfitting late 2013/ early 2014 in his driveway with his dad's old Weider set, a bag of cement and his left over cinder blocks. Having been a 7-year veteran of the globo gym experience, he started to become disillusioned with the bodybuilding world, while slowly growing fond of stongman routines like the original bodybuilders used to do. Cobalt ended up having everything he was looking for in a gym (Atlas stones, chains, yoke, sled, etc) and a whole lot more! It was love at first Fran. Now, Corey wants to spread the good word to everyone who comes seeking the truth about fitness; that you can be anyone from anywhere in any condition & any age yet still become stronger, faster & fitter through virtuosity of habits and hard work. Corey is CF-L1 Certified, and a POSE Running Certified Instructor. He is looking to add to his credentials soon with courses in weightlifting, kettle bell. Since starting at Cobalt, Corey has goen from 250lb. to 181lb.
Keith has been around sports all his life, playing anything and everything. He is a sportscaster for NBC Sports Radio and CBS Sports Network. Keith started crossfitting about 4 years ago and never looked back. It's no secret that he loves to fly and will try almost any type of "stupid human trick" and can always be seen with a smile at the gym. His sons are one of the reasons why he pushes so hard; so that they can see how important being physically fit is. Keith is Level 1 Certified and has his Crossfit Kids Certificate as well. He will be Cobalt's lead instructor for the CF Kids program and is looking forward to helping all kids have fun while learning the importance of health and fitness.
Marc is relatively new to crossfit but not athletics. He also happens to be a former fat-kid. He played football through high school and college. He was a linebacker at Ithaca College where he won the honors of defensive captain his senior year, leading his defense in tackles. Marc is an Occupational Therapist, working in an inpatient cardiac rehab unit. He found crossfit his graduate year of college in Ithaca, NY at Crossfit Pallas. Once his collegiate career ended, Marc knew he needed to compete in crossfit! He fell in love with crossfit from day one and has found genuine passion for it. Marc finds true joy in not only competing, but also helping the other members at Cobalt become more fit, and live with a better quality of life. Marc is Level 1 Certified.
Casey fell in love with Crossfit in early 2014 and hasn't looked back. Being stuck behind a desk 40+ hours a week, Casey loves taking her fitness and strength developed in the gym out into the world and can often be found outside Camping/Hiking, Paddle boarding or Snowboarding. Grateful to the coaching staff at Crossfit Cobalt who brought out the mental and physical strength she didn't know she had and as a way to pay it forward in 2018 decided to get CF Level 1 Certified /CFC Internship so that she be a part of bringing those strengths out in others.
CFC INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
In an effort to help those who are looking to expand their CrossFit knowledge and coaching experience (and cultivate coaches for future expansion), CrossFit Cobalt is now offering a comprehensive 4-month internship program. This program is designed to enhance a CF Level-1 Certified individual's knowledge and skill-set so that they are able to confidently and effectively teach what they have learned to CrossFit members. The first month of the program will be spent shadowing an experienced coach, gaining a greater understanding of the movements, becoming more familiar with a variety of cues and understanding how Crossfit Cobalt operates. During the next three months, there will be a transition toward more hands on learning, where the intern will take on more responsibility and lead classes, learning valuable skills such as time management and establishing a productive class environment.
